Indian Overseas Bank Announces Recruitment – In the financial year 2025–26, IOB has declared vacancies for 400 Local Bank Officers on the JMGS-I level. The application period started on May 12, 2025 and will end on May 31, 2025. Potential employees should apply by visiting the IOB website at www.iob.in.
The positions available are spread among six states, including 260 in Tamil Nadu, 45 in Maharashtra, 30 in Gujarat, 34 in West Bengal, 21 in Punjab and 10 in Odisha. Any applicant should own a recognized graduate degree, granted by the Government of India or its equivalent. Anyone applying should be between 20 and 30 years old, but age relaxations are available for reserved categories. Every medical professional is required to be proficient in the local language of the state.
To be selected, candidates take an online test, a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) and have a personal interview. The exam online will have 140 questions and take up to 3 hours. There is minus marking and you lose 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
The starting basic salary for an Assistant Manager (Scale I) is ₹48,480 and, with rear peizing, may grow to ₹85,920 through periodic increments. Besides other allowances, employees are also given Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and City Compensatory Allowance (CCA). If elected, candidates go through a two-year trial period and must commit to at least three years of work with the bank using a ₹2,00,000 service bond.
The general, EWS and OBC candidates will pay ₹850 as a fee, while SC, ST and PwBD candidates need to pay only ₹175. Interested persons are advised to review the complete information and apply soon enough to meet the filing deadline.
